Hello Everyone,
Jeju is a great place to go anytime of the year! And we have a very rare 5 day weekend coming up for Lunar New Year! We have a perfectly tailored trip where you can tour the best parts of Jeju and have extra day to hike the tallest mountain in Korea. Winter is a great time to go because Jeju island is warmer than mainland and usually the weather is clear for great walking tours with a lot less crowds normally seen during Summer time. Also, Hallasan has breath-taking scenery when it is covered with snow at the peak. Hallasan hike is best in winter time. Join us and let us do all the work so all you have to do is just to enjoy it with great bunch of people and make new friends!^^

BUSAN DEPARTURE
We may add a bus departing Busan if there is enough people signing up early.
If not we can pick up folks at Gwangju Bus Terminal.
We can use your help to get the word out and get a bus leaving Busan.

JEJU ISLAND
You will be able to see and do everything that is great in Jeju. We have absolutely the best Jeju trip available anywhere. Period!^^

It is really mind boggling all the attractions they have managed to pack into such a relatively small place.
But you have to have been to them to know which ones are worth the visit and which ones quite don't cut it. For example they have a chocolate museum but they don't even have chocolates for you to eat. Just a bunch of historical photos of chocolate in Korean history. And the glass museum. Just go to a high end glass store in Seoul and you see more interesting glass items. ^^ As for the green tea museum? Well they play it up but a big let down when you go to it. So we have been to most of the attractions and we have formed the best tour routing so you would minimize travel time and hit only the ones really worth going to.

Here are some highlights of Jeju:
1. Hallasan Hike - The Tallest Peak in South Korea at 1950 meters (Jirisan is 1925m and Seoraksan is 1708m).
2. Udo Island - Scooter Riding around the island weather permitting (coastal winding roads, beaches, lava cliffs, speed boat cliff tour, Hae Nyo Women Divers diving)
3. Manganggul Cave (만장굴) - Unesco World Natural Heritage Site (unique in the world)
4. Seongsan Ilchulbong (성산일출봉) - Crater Mountain (20min hike to top with fantastic views) - Unesco Natural Heritage Site
5. Cheonjeyeon (천제연) and Jeongbang (정방) Waterfall and Jusangjeolli (주상절리) Lava Rock Formations and Sanbangsan Dragon Head Cliff and Temple
6. Beaches - Jungmun (중문) the most famous Jeju beach
7. Fun places like Loveland and Submarine ride and Gocart!.
8. Jeju Olle Trails (16 Walking Trails to choose from. 3-5hrs each)
9. Horseback Riding (free style! which is rare find)
10. The Mysterious Road

They have other attractions like Green Tea Field, African Museum, Teddy Bear Museum, Cheesy Folk Villages, Forest Walks, etc.. but we've been to them and they did not make our cut for the best places to go.^^ When you go to Jeju you only want to go and see only in Jeju things! UNESCO SITES
Korea has 9 UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Locations but only one World Natural Heritage and that is on Jeju Island.
The designation of Natural Heritage was given 2007 to the combined locations of Hallasan and Manjanggul Cave and Seongsanilchulbong which are all accessible which makes them unique in the world. The details of why the designation was given is explained at this link:

HALLASAN SNOW HIKE
The hike to Hallasan peak is one of the must do for Koreans who hike regularly or even seldom. It is famous for its amazing views at the top. It is one of the best hiking experiences in Korea. It’s very difficult to get lost since only really one way to get to the top. And depending on your physical ability you will have two options:
HIKE OPTION #1: Hike to the top then hike down to the opposite site to the temple.
HIKE OPTION #2: Start the hike together but you have the option to turn around and hike back down where the bus will be waiting.
A working cell phone is a must as there is signal for most parts of the mountain.
Good footwear provides better traction. And you should not hike alone. The Private Bus to Hike will be 5,000 per person.
Sunrise: 7:301M
Sunset: 6:04PM

SNOW HIKING GEAR
Strap-on-spikes (also called crampons) are highly recommended since parts of the trail is packed snow at an angle. Some people do hike with just hiking boots but most people will have crampons. There are crampons for walking on ice (chain type) and for walking on packed snow (spike type). We think crampons in the middle is best.
Gaiters are also recommended just in case you step into knee high deep soft snow. Gaiters will keep snow out of the sides of your shoes to keep your shoes dry. See below for links to crampons and gaiters available online. Take multiple layers so when you are at the top and want to take rest you are warm. We will form groups of similar hike speeds. It is important to hike together in case one needs help.

HIKE GEAR ONLINE ORDER
We can order strap-on-spikes, gaiters, sticks, or hot packs for you online if you prefer. We can have them delivered to your address with a 5,000 won processing charge per order or return processing. Please check links below and email us with exactly what you want to order for you to your address.
We will need address in Korean letters where it can be delivered to and phone # of someone who speaks Korean to speak to the delivery person about where to put it in case a person is not present when delivery is made.
Place order (make trip deposit) and send email no later than Monday morning before the trip begins.

HORSE RIDING
Horse Riding in Jeju usually means the horse keeper holds your leash and you go around in circles in a track. But we found this one place which allows you to ride freely if you demonstrate the ability to control the horse. As with anywhere horse riding isn't cheap. But for 25,000 won you get free style riding which ends up taking up about 25min (10min of actual riding). They can have up to 12 riders at one time. The views from this location is truly spectacular as you get not only the rolling hills view but also view of the ocean in the distance. Choose between horse riding or visit Loveland for the time slot.

UDO ISLAND
UDO is an amazing island. Really nothing like it anywhere. The coastal road circles virtually the entire perimeter of the island. The views are amazing and there are numerous points of interest all along the island.
Bicycling Around the Island is a great way to see the island since most of the island is flat road. It’s less than 10,000 won for rental.
The Shuttle Bus is another great way to tour. For 5,000 won you can get on and get off any points.
Scooters on Udo in general require international license to rent but sometimes they allow without it. The posted price is 20,000 won for 1 hr but with our highly skilled negotiating skills we have developed over numerous times we have been there we are expecting you can get 3-4hrs of riding for around 30,000 won. It depends on many factors such as the demand on the day and whether the husband is alone or if the wife is looking over his shoulder. We will do our best. ^^
Scooters are half the price of an ATV, but are only recommended for those who have ridden one before. ATV's are safe for first timers, and you can always ride 2 people on an ATV, and split the cost ^^
Before taking off on your U-Do adventure, be sure to listen to all the instructions on where all of the cool stuff to see is so you don't miss it!

JEJU BBQ PORK NIGHT
Jejudo is known for several foods. One of those is the black pig. Black pig is unique to Jeju. The meat does seem to taste better and worth a try.
So on our first night we will have a black pig barbeque event at a beach side restaurant. It will be included in the trip price.
(Non Meat Eater can get Tofu or Fish as alternate if you let us know in advance.)

LODGING
Our motel is beach side at one of the best beaches in Jeju Island. You walk out of the building and you are looking at the ocean and green grass fields and less than 1 minute walk and you are on a beautiful sandy beach with turquoise colored ocean water. This beach also has numerous variety of foods and drinks including a drinking bar that is right over the ocean. Foods available are:
1. Black Pork BBQ
2. Spicy Flat Silver Fish Stew (갈치조림)
3. Giant Korean Burger (허브버거)
4. Marinated Pork BBQ (돼지갈비)
5. Pizza
6. Oven Baked Chicken BREAKFAST BAKERY
We will have assorted bakery items delivered to the motel lobby both mornings (Sat and Sun) with hot water for coffee or tea. CU convenience store next door offers many other drink and snack items.

JEJU CITY NIGHT LIFE
On the SW Tour, you will be exploring the most hip part of Jeju City downtown for dinner and drinks. There are many choices in the city including a very popular Indian restaurant.
Then after the meal our tour leader will show you the hippest part of Jeju city. On the EAST Tour the bus will also take you to the city as well.

FAST FERRY TO JEJU FROM WANDO AND BACK
We will take a large ferry from Wando to Jeju. It will allow you to go outside to enjoy the breeze. On the way back it will be a hydro foil fast ferry that only takes 100min. 7:12AM Sunrise
6:20PM Sunset
