ALL TRIPS AT:
Fall is the best season to see the leaves colors and Gyeongju is the best option for that, Gyeongju was the capital of Shilla Kingdom 1500 years ago and has numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites. Its really special to bike among the ancient tomb mounds of Kings and Queens and historical sites all around together with the beauty of nature. With most of the roads flat, the freedom of movement provided by biking is really the best way to enjoy the Fall leaves colors.
After that we are heading to Busan, as the second largest city and located on the East Sea coast, Busan is an amazing city with lots of things to do and places to see that attr
acts plenty of international visitors. In the evening you can see the fireworks at the beach and also you’ll have the option to follow our awesome trip leader out to the best bars and party areas of town, which may include the Gwangalli strip, KSU (Kyungsung University district), Seomyeon, Haeundae, and PNU (Busan University district).
Also we've tailored for the next day a trip for you that shows you some of the best spots around this must-see Korean city! And if you have been there before, you can just relax on the beach! ^^
GYEONGJU BIKE TOUR & BIKING GROUPS
You’ll have your choice of single bikes or two-person tandem bikes to check out this historic city in style, and you can already see the leaves turning colors. You can either ride as a group of your own or you can join one of our groups led by a fearless WinK leader. You can leave your belongings on the bus.
Twenty-three tombs located inside rolling grassy hills hold over 30,000 relics dating over 1,500 years old - and we get to walk inside one! From the inside you can see the mounds are made of big rocks. This is an ancient security system. When thieves try to steal the treasure it takes them too long to remove the big rocks. That means they can be caught when daylight comes. With even more blossoms hanging overhead and a mini-bamboo forest among the tomb grounds, it'll make for a quick and fun photoshoot.
Our lodging is located just within a few minutes from the magnificent view of the Diamond Bridge, the skyscrapers of Marina City, and features a beachside bar and restaurant scene.
BUSAN FIREWORKS FESTIVAL
The "Busan Fireworks Festival" takes place every October along Gwangalli Beach. It is the biggest fireworks we have ever seen. It is huge and the Gwangan Suspension Bridge in the background adds to the visual awesomeness. The festival’s diverse programs of cultural events, high-tech laser light shows, and myriad of unique and colorful fireworks make this one of the area’s most popular festivals, drawing crowds of over 1 million visitors each year. We will stake out our spot on the beach and hang out enjoying the seaview on one side and the lit up skyline on the other. Our resident Busan expert will be present to make it an awesome night.
The Busan Tour will include some of Busan’s most famous and popular tourist attraction spots Jagalchi Fish Market, Gamcheon Art Village, and Taejongdae, each of which offer a different side and feel of Busan.
JAGALCHI FISH MARKET
This is the largest seafood market in Korea, where both live fish and dried fish are being sold at. There are several different types of fresh fish on sale, and it’s also popular to head upstairs to the restaurant to eat the fish you’ve just purchased right away.
GAMCHEON ART VILLAGE
The village consists of several colorful houses built on the hills of a small mountain. On the back alleys you can also find murals. It’s a great spot for taking pictures and for taking a walk.
Taejongdae is a small mountain with a peak at 250 meters, located right by the sea. It’s another great spot in Busan for walking, and while it’s a mountain, getting to the top is much more like a leisurely stroll than an actual hike. The views are great all around the year and at the boot of the mountain there are also small “cruise” boats ready to show you around the mountain.
