Hello WinKers!
Temple Stay is very special in Korea. A glimpse into the life of a monk and more importantly a chance to meet and talk to a monk with thinking and lifestyle very different from ours. And we have been to many temple stays but this one we will go to is the best. The monk we will meet has lived 3 years in the woods without any contact with humans living entirely on his own. He has very special story to tell and insights into the buddhist life with a sense of humor and wit rarely found.
If you have been on the Temple Stay before you have the choice to stay at a beautiful straw-roof hut traditional folk village instead. Nagan Folk Village is the best we have seen.
The next day all of us will get to go to the Boseong Green Tea Fields and the nearby Green Tea Plantation where you can make traditional tea by using the green tea leaves. The green tea plantation experience is super fun and very authentic and highly recommended by us.

TEMPLE STAY (OPTION 1)
Korean Temple Stay programs are unique to Korea and we have been to most of the temples that do Temple Stay programs. And we think we have found the best Temple with the best Monk that leads it. We are confident you will not ne disappointed.
Seonamsa Temple is a majestic temple with deep historic significance. And it is also famous for its natural beauty.Their temple stay program consists of these activities:
Temple Tour
Tea Time with a Monk
Meditation
108 Prostrations with Video
Prayer Bead Necklace-making
Special Temple Ceremonial Meal (발우공양)
Two more Temple Meals (Dinner and Lunch)
The lead monk is very genuine and articulate very well. We will have lots of time to ask questions. We highly recommend it. It is the best temple stay program in Korea.

NAGAN FOLK VILLAGE & OVERNIGHT (OPTION 2)
Nagan Folk Village is arguably one of the nicest authentic like folk villages in all of South Korea, with its straw-thatched roofs and peaceful atmosphere. Less than 100 years ago almost all of Korea looked liked this and many older Koreans will tell you that this is the kind of housing they grew up in before they moved to the big city. It is a glimpse into what Korean village life was prior to modernization. Most of these small homes are run by ‘halmonis’ (grandmothers) who live there year in year out. We’ll stay in a traditional straw-roof home and sleep on heated floors. Private rooming is available. We’ll also host a walking tour around the village. The fortress wall is a great perch for drinks and great conversation at night!

BOSEONG GREEN TEA FIELDS
You’ve never seen this much green tea in one place before! Rolling hills of green as far as you can see. Jump in between the rows for candid photos or make the climb to the top of the hill for a view the stretches all the way to the sea. There’s a restaurant which offers green tea infused meals, including green tea noodles & green tea rice bibimbap. Afterwards, wash it down with a green tea latte, green tea soft-serve ice cream and buy some of the purest green tea in Korea in the gift shop. GREEN TEA PLANTATION
This is a private green tea plantation handed down 5 generations. They have been awarded numerous times for leading the Korean green tea industry in making the finest green tea products including green tea grown with gold dust. The experience includes having a very nice tea time in a very special tea tasting room where the tea master will show us how to drink tea the traditional way. Also you will get to learn how to pick the best leaves for highest quality tea and and get to form teams and dry the leaves in the proper way.

BAMBOO FOREST
Juknogwon (죽녹원) is the most famous bamboo forest in Korea. A very large dense forest of very thick bamboos trees. And the best time to go is when they open when we can avoid the tourist crowd. You are sure to get a few amazing bamboo forest shots.

METASEQUOIA TREE LINED ROAD
In the morning before any tourists are there we will go to a beautiful and exotic boulevard that looks like it is came straight out of a fairytale. This unearthly place is the Metasequoia-lined Road.
Metasequoia trees were planted along the street in the early 1970s when the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially designated the road as a “boulevard.” At that time, the saplings were only 3 to 4 years old and their branches stretched sparsely out into the sky; now, the trees have grown so high that they seem to block out the sun! Thanks to these stately trees, in 2002 the Korea Forest Service selected the boulevard as one of the most beautiful roads in Korea. A perfect SCHEDULE
