Dance in South Korea
Avoiding habitual movements, we will aim to be aware of our bodies at every moment. Without any intention to make movements, we will listen to how the body wants to move. We will discover voluntary movements that arise through the feeling of the body, and see how they evolve in the unintentional mind. After a warm-up, we will explore improvisation. Contact improvisation will be legitimate during this phase, but we will focus on solo improvisation. It is free to participate, and open to everybody.
10th June, 12:00-14:00
We will concentrate on stretching movements, paying attention to breathing. We will try to be aware of the rhythm that the body generates through breathing, and move to that rhythm. As pairs, we will share minute movements with each other, responsively and naturally. Then we will extend these sensations to solo improvisation.
17th June, 12:00-14:00
After repeating the previous <“the last” can mean the final> week's exercise, we will improvise as teams of two without touching each other. Then we will improvise movements, at various heights, with different distances between the two partners, mixing non-contact and contact movements. 24th June, 12:00-14:00
We will improvise according to a certain theme. First we will make teams of two, and improvise individually, taking turns. Then we will repeat the movements. We will put these two sets of movements together as a duet. We will repeat the movements, adding words. Then we will repeat the movements while adding improvisation in a loose structure.
